CARSTAR Ready to Walk for Cystic Fibrosis
CARSTAR began its fundraising for cystic fibrosis in Canada in 1997, after a franchise partner’s granddaughter was diagnosed with the disease. Now, $3 million raised and over 20 years later, fighting cystic fibrosis has become a North American cause.
Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disorder mainly affecting the lungs and digestive system. The life expectancy of someone living with cystic fibrosis has increased over the years; however, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is still fighting for a cure. CARSTAR remains committed to its support in this fight, as it understands the impact that these valuable funds have on the research, care and advocacy for this disease.
This year, CARSTAR locations from across the U.S. will participate in Great Strides, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event. Great Strides takes place throughout the month of May across the U.S., with CARSTAR locations creating their own local teams. This fun-filled event is a perfect excuse to get outside with the whole family, while giving back to a tremendous cause.
