Justin Padelli served in the United States Air Force for two years before leaving to take care of his 2-year-old daughter.
Padelli became financially strapped and without reliable transportation after a custody battle and going back to school.
When the NABC Recycled Rides Program heard about his struggle, the group gave Padelli a new, safer car.
“I barely win a raffle, so to get chosen for such a prestigious award like this car, it just humbled me really,” Padelli said. “And to see all the work and effort that people put in is just awesome.”
Padelli said the new car will ease his worries of driving with his little girl.
