UFOC

The Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC) is a federally mandated disclosure document that outlines the financial standing of the company, the background of the franchise and its principals, and the history of any bankruptcy, lawsuits or violations lodged against the franchisor.

Under the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Franchise Rule, franchisors must provide prospective franchisees with a UFOC within 10 business days before any agreement is signed or money changes hands-usually at the first personal meeting with the prospective franchisee.
