Return to Be Safe America
Cindy thought she could make the light. It wasn't a very bright decision.

That truck she had followed really put her behind schedule. One more light and she might make her meeting on time. It looked like she could make it, but the light wasn't as long as she thought. By the time all three cars were towed away, Cindy had missed her meeting. Slow down and follow these everyday driving tips to live by:

  • Leave in plenty of time and avoid having to rush.
  • Avoid high traffic times whenever possible.
  • If you're in a rush, gather your thoughts before driving.
  • In a meeting? Let people know at the beginning when you need to leave.
  • Running late? Call ahead to take the pressure off.
  • Never accelerate to make a changing light.
  • Approach every intersection with care.
  • Remember, the average traffic light is only 40 seconds long.
  • No appointment is worth an accident.
