CHICAGO– Rockin’ for the Troops returned to Cantigny Park, in Wheaton, Ill. on Saturday July 17th at noon for the fifth year in a row.  This year, the CARSTAR Chicagoland Business Group were proud sponsors of the event.  Rockin’ for the Troops is a fundraiser concert featuring Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band, designed to raise money for Operation Support Our Troops Illinois.

There's a new Guinness World Record for World's Largest Car Wash -- and it's held by CARSTAR.  The more than 150 participating CARSTAR stores in the U.S. and Canada washed more than 4,000 cars during an eight-hour period on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 to break the record.

The CARSTAR stores across the U.S. and Canada are wrapping up their day of washing cars to set the Guinness World Record for world's largest car wash.  Some 3,000 cars have already been washed...and the car wash events are just ending on the east coast.

CARSTAR is getting closer to it's goal in the Soaps It Up car wash.  By 1 p.m. ET, nearly 1,000 cars have been washed in the U.S. and Canada. Only 3,000 more to go!

The CARSTAR Soaps It Up! carwash is underway and more than 500 cars have been washed on the way to the Guinness World Record.  Check out the photos from the events around the country.

At a Make-a-Wish event Wednesday June 10th Kurt's CARSTAR Collision Center in Maryville raised enough money to send a family to Walt Disney World Resort.

CARSTAR and Hertz Corporation have partnered to provide CARSTAR centers with the ability to offer its customers Hertz rental cars. This will allow CARSTAR centers to give consumers going through the post-accident vehicle repair process a better customer experience.

The CARSTAR Connecticut group of repair facilities recently sponsored the I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) MIG Welding Certification course at the Berlin, CT CARSTAR location. Nineteen students from Connecticut area shops attended this four hour comprehensive course.

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, the largest insurer of autos in the nation, is implementing a companywide enhancement of its auto damage service repair programs. A new Select Service program that was tested in several markets in California, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan will replace existing Select Service and Service First(R) programs in designated markets. Select Service, an auto damage repair program currently in a limited number of locations, was introduced by State Farm in 2001.

LKQ Corporation has recently acquired several recycled parts businesses with aggregate revenue in 2005 of approximately $24 million. Terms of these transactions were not disclosed.

CARSTAR Franchise Systems has recently named Stacy Bartnik as Assistance Vice President and Director of Franchise Services. Bartnik will be responsible for service operations, managing CARSTAR's Regional Service Managers that provide support to approximately 270 locations throughout the United States.
